Strolling around Hightown once again... It didn't matter, if Aveline stated she was receiving reports about others feeling unhappy about his presence. Afterall, this exact section of Kirkwall was supposed to be for nobles. And Fenris was no noble. He used to be a slave, in fact. But now he was a free man and he would live wherever he wanted. While Kirkwall citizens believed elves only belonged to the alienage, Fenris quite didn't agree with that. In fact, he disliked that part of the Lowtown and preferred to stay away. It was nonsense to live with only his race. He never felt like a part of anything to begin with.
All these years and he had hardly made any friends. He didn't have an actual job or a title. He simply didn't want such. His adventurous spirit pressed heavier, one could guess. But that didn't mean he wasn't doing anything at all. He might have not cleaned the mansion he was living in, but his reading had improved. He was reading many books Hawke offered him. History books and mythology were his favourites, though.
Hanged Man was his next destination, as the sun started to go down. A drink and perhaps some card games with Varric. This started to become a routine through years. Fenris didn't cheat, but he mostly won with those card games. But of course, there were times he lost aswell.
Guardsmen and women were hanging around as usual. The bad poet was also there, now speaking in ridiculous lines to a random woman. The scent of alcohol was heavy, but it wasn't the worst thing in Lowtown to be honest. He seemed to be the only elf in the tavern at the moment, most people being longer than him.
His companions didn't seem to be around, so the silver haired elf made his way to the bar-counter to get a drink. Placing a few coins onto the dirty surface, he got his pint and searched around to find an empty table. There were a few by his chance. Getting friendly with strangers was never his thing in the end. So he would prefer silence to empty talk. Settling down in one of the tables in a more deserted corner of the tavern, Fenris turned his back at the front door; taking slow swigs from his pint. He wasn't really being social, but that was only expected from him.
