The darkness was always full of danger. The moonlight, however, was bright on this night and it's fullness lit up the rooftops with incredibly brightness. The skies were clear as well, and though the air was cold there was not a breath of a breeze.
The rooftops were slick.
The assassin had slipped in his flight, a booted foot skidding down the tiles without friction. "Merda!" He swore unthinkingly, arms flailing for a hold on something, anything, as he tumbled from the edge of the roof. His skill, however, saved him, and he snatched a ledge in his fingers, pulling himself up with ease, though his heart was pounding in his ears. Breath came in short gasps as he continued to flee, though he knew soon the gap between them would be closed and the other would catch up to him.
He had no idea who, or what it was, only that it was physically strong and weilded sharp claws, though seemed almost human in it's form. The master assassin had run into a vampire, though of course not of his Roma, and the monsterous thing had seen the italian as easy pickings. Ezio would not make it so easy for him.
He reached the edge of the roof, and paused to look over his shoulder. Eyes widened at the sight of a black shape speeding towards him. Closer then he expected. He dropped as it was just about to collide with him, hands on the edge of the roof and his chest slamming into the wall. He gasped for breath and dropped, landing in the empty square below and wincing at the impact.
The thing turned towards him again, and long claws slashed out, ripping into the fabric of his tunic, and he gave a pained cry, blood already welling from the wound at his side, and absorbing into the material; a bloom of crimson on white. He swore again, and threw a punch edged with his hidden blade, the metal glinting beautifully in the moonlight. The finely crafted weapon sunk into the shadowy monstrosity, but did not seem to have any effect and a cruel laugh left the vampire-thing.
"Struggle on, little human." It chuckled.
Ezio grit his teeth, trying to ignore the waves of pain washing over him, even as he was caught up in a large hand. Of course he struggled, as the fingers closed in the lapels of his tunic, and he wrenched his blade free, going for the hand instead, the world spinning. The thing was laughing again. Who knew how old and powerful it was? Ezio was skilled, fast and agile, but was hopelessly outmatched against this.
Then a thought occured to him, even as the vampire's tooth-filled mouth opened infront of him, a leer that turned into a grin before the dangerous and fanged jaws parted. Signorina Bernkastel. She had said to call her... But. But how? He panicked for a brief moment as the teeth came towards him, presumabley going for his neck before he spoke, hoping a simple aloud 'call' would be enough to incite the strega's response. "Signorina Frederica Bernkastel! N-Now would be a tempo fantastico per mostrare se stessi!" He slipped into italian as he finished speaking, still trying to poke the vampire full of holes, even as his own blood slowly dripped to the paving at his feet, the grip on him so tight he could only pull back.
Just to secure him further, the vampire used his free hand to grab on of the assassin's wrists. All Ezio could do was wait and pray...
