Powers And Abilities
Strengths:
Master Mage
Loki is a master mage and magic user. His powers extend to most forms of magic but he is most skilled in illusionary magic. He can easily summon doubles of himself, and disappear altogether whilst tricking people into thinking his illusions are himself. He can also alter his physical form, and has been known to take a female form at times. As he is a frost giant, he is also able to use attacks based on cold, and is immune to such spells himself.
Brilliant mind
Incredibly intelligent, Loki is a schemer and a trickster. He loves causing mischief and chaos, and he loves planning and plotting. A lot of his plans look at the big picture and aim to be sucessful in the long run, rather then yielding immediate results.
"Immortal"
As an Ice Giant/ Asgardian, Loki takes less damage from attacks then a human. He is more resilient to illness, poison and other ailments, and will not die from aging. He is also more resiliant to frost and ice spells.
Weaknesses:
Hand to hand
Loki is not great at hand to hand combat. Though he does have some limited ability fighting with his staff, he is much more secure in his abilities as a mage, rather than using his fists. Chances are, if you are a melee fighter, you will easily overpower him. And due to his thin frame, he really does go flying.
Ambition and Overconfidence
Loki is incredibly overconfident and sure of himself. With high flying ambitions, he views himself as a rightful ruler of Asgard, and a superior creature to pathetic humans. He sees no human as his equal, let alone better then him, and this had often led to his downfall. He goes to seize something too strong for him to contain, and this usually ends badly.
Lack of foresight
Loki is terrible in imagining the final result of his actions. It often takes someone to tell him before he realises quite what he has done. On many, many occasions, it has taken his brother, Thor, to open his eyes to see what has occured due to him. And the realisation is often quite frightening to him. For example, the time he unleashed the Hulk on Asgard, he realised he would have to work together with his brother to fix his mistake, lest all of Asgard be destroyed.
Weapons And Equipment:

Asgardian Armour
Loki can summon and dismiss his armour at will. When wearing his armour, his usual green leather coat becomes emblazoned with golden plates at points, a thick green cloak trailing from his shoulders and a golden helmet covers his head, with two large horns curling from his forehead.
Staff
A staff imbued with potent magical energies that he can control at will, the staff given to him by the Chitauri. This staff amplifies his own powers, and allows him to blast people with energy. It is also incredibly sharp, and can be used as a melee weapon, both as a mace and as a blade.
Throwing daggers
Finally, Loki has some ability with Asgardian throwing daggers. He keeps a stash of them about his person for dire situations, though he doesn't often use them.
Personal Information
Personality:
Loki has many strong personality traits running through him. Firstly, he is ambitious, and this ambition can lead to him making terrible decisions. His want for power might simply be an echo of his need to be as good as or better as his older brother, Thor, but he views it as his right to have such power. He wanted, more then anything, to retain his throne as King of Asgard, but this was snatched from him when Thor returned, and Loki chose his exile.
Loki has a strong love of mischief and playing tricks on people. When idling or not partaking in some ridiculous scheme, he is often simply tricking people, or annoying people for the sake of it. For the most part, this habit is innocent fun, though others may not see it as such. He is well known in Asgard for his penchant for trickery and lies, and his brother was often the butt of his pranks when they were growing up.
He both loves and hates Thor. Having viewed himself as always walking in his brother's shadow, he is jealous of how powerful Thor is, and of his achievements. And yet, he grew up with him, and though they are not blood related, Loki does love him to some extent, though he tries to hide it. He has tried on many occasions to kill Thor, but Thor always tries to win his brother back over to the light.
History:
Odin, the Asgardian king was the deciding factor in the long war against the frost giants. As he defeated their ruler, he stole more then an ancient relic from their people. He took the tiny child of Laufey, whom he adopted as his on son, on both the notion of him being abandoned, and to use him in the future to repair relations between the Asgardians and the frost giants.
Loki grew up oblivious to his origins, thinking he was the blood child of Odin and the brother of Thor. He and his brother were inseperable as children and always did everything together. However, Loki was always a little bit jealous of Thor, as he felt Odin favoured him and Thor could do no wrong in Odin's eyes.
When it came to the day of Thor's coronation, Loki let the ice giants into Asgard. Ultimatley as a bit of a fun, he simply wanted to mess up Thor's day. However, this started a series of events, leading to Loki finding out his origins as an ice giant, rather then Asgardian, and this lead to a breakdown, his whole life falling down around his ears.
He sezied the throne of Asgard as Thor was cast out and Odin in Odinsleep, but was usurped when Thor returned (though he was a bit of a git about keeping Thor away from Asgard). He chose to banish himself, when the Bifrost (rainbow bridge linking to other worlds), was destroyed by Thor.
Queue a time later and on earth. Sent by the Chitauri to seize the Tessaract, Loki, burdered with gloriousporpoisepurpose, set out to take control of earth, but the Avengers stepped in to put an end to his schemes. Now he wants a little revenge, and is more then happy to have been brought here by the Game Master.
Sample Post
Well, this place was certainley... familiar.[/size]
He had not expected to find New York City in this strange realm and yet here it was, before him like he'd just left it. Well. Less broken. The Chitauri had done a marvellous job in devastating at least part of the city, a single island, but it was better then nothing.
He idled on a rooftop, a smile on his lips at the thought. Loki, supposed God of Mischief, was dressed as a Midgardian, an earthling, a well fitting suit covering his frame, coplimented by a green staff. The Chitauri staff he'd managed to keep glistened in his hands in cane form, a black gloved hand wrapped about it's hilt. He was sitting with his legs overhanging the edge fo the roof and simply watching the people in the streets below. Like ants, tiny ants, scurrying about uselessly in their quests to complete for their boring, pointless lives.
A smile curved his lips, turning into all but a grin. That smile would have been sweet had it not been on the lips of one such as Loki. A spiteful man, and a trickster. He considered putting a damper on their day, making the sun disappear under clouds, or perhaps just dropping into the street to make them tremble before him but... no. If NYC was here, then maybe the Avengers were too. He had to find out more before he did anything. After all, his greatest desire was still the throne of Asgard...
