Powers And Abilities
Strengths:
Cards
Although using cards as his weapon, Twisted Fate can imbue cards with magic and give them special affects to those he strikes with them.
Blue Card
Restores a little mana to Twisted Fate. He has to use this quite often in battle, as although he can use magic, he's not a proper mage. It doesn't really hurt, or do much damage, just returns his mana if it strikes a target.
Yellow Card
A card that packs a punch. Designed to make the one it strikes flinch or stunned for a few seconds... Enough time for the card master to flee, or reposition himself.
Red Card
A card that gives a little area of effect burst of magic, damaging his enemy and the enemies around them.
Wild Cards
Twisted Fate also sometimes just throws his cards without looking. These 'Wild Cards' can be any of the above, or just his normal throwing cards to attack. It's a gamble... Which is what he likes best.
Destiny & Gate
The most powerful spell Twisted Fate knows. Destiny allows him to see those hiding from him (as well as see what your hand is in poker). He can then teleport a fair distance away. This is very draining on his energy and his mana so he can't teleport around crazily like other mages can, but it comes in handy in a pinch, especially when coupled with his yellow card. His Gate takes a few seconds to channel before he teleports.
Weaknesses:
Human
Twisted Fate is a human and can as such be wounded, hurt or become ill. This of course puts him at a severe disadvantage against non-humans.
Weak in melee
If you get him into a fist fight, he's doomed. He is useless up close, physically only of average strength and can only fight dirty with no real idea what he's doing.
Mana dependant
All of his magic requires his mana. He's not a proper mage in reality, and as such has to often use his blue card to keep his mana up. Destiny & Gate also take up a lot of his mana.
No armour or magical resistance
He wears normal(ish) clothes, without little to no protective qualities, and has no resistances against magic even though he is technically a mage. As such, he fairs badly from any damage taken as it's not going to be stopped by any of his attire.
Weapons And Equipment:
Cards
Twisted Fate uses cards as his weapon, throwing them at his foes. They are magical, and do pack a sting unlike regular playing cards, though he carries hundreds and hundreds of both kinds. If anyone but Twisted Fate uses the cards, they seem like normal playing cards instead of the hard hitting projectiles he uses them as.
Personal Information
Personality:
A rogue gambler, Twisted Fate always has a trick or cheat up his sleeve. He loves gambling, it's his passion, and yet he mysteriously always seems to come out on top in a game of cards, or dice, or anything involving luck... Almost like he constantly cheats. Funny that, isn't it?
He's good at running away after years of practice running from the law after swindling a heap of gold from innocent victims, and usually has an escape plan in mind before starting one of his schemes. He finds good humour in a lot of things, a smile usually on his lips or a chuckle leaving him at the most dire of circumstances, even being chased out of town.
He's not particularly loyal, but if you're a good laugh, or a good drinking companion, he's likely to stick about in your company for a while at least. That is until something better comes up, and you're replaced. He's got no qualms about selling 'friends' out either.
Twisted Fate has always been desperate for the ability to use magic, and once he gained this power, he applied it to his gambling.
History:
Born to poor gypsy parents in Valoren, Twisted Fate rose to infamy and riches through his amazing abilities in the seedy gambling circuits of the lands, in both Demacia and Noxus, though they were at war. His abilities were second to none, and he was never caught by the authorities, though they damn well tried many times. He joined forces with a man named Graves, and between them, they swindled and cheated thousands of gold out of their innocent victims, their cheating abilities second to none.
However, throughout it all, Twisted Fate wanted to learn magic more then anything else. He was offered the chance to partake in an experiment to become a mage, but in return had to sell out his partner Graves. He did so in a heartbeat; the offer was too good to refuse. Graves was taken to a secure prison and locked away.
Twisted Fate took part in the experiment, and went through hideous pain and trials for the sake of what he wanted. The experiment was a success, and he teleported himself away from the scene.
Now, he again wanders the streets looking for a con or scheme to make use of, gambling his way through the world and stealing money through 'chance'. Better watch your wallet if he's about. ;)
Sample Post
"Heh, guess fortune's on my side, eh?" The voice sounded amused as another card was laid down on the table. "Looks like I win again." He looked up, the light catching his eye even though they were cloaked in darkness from the brim of his hat.
The one playing against him shifted uncomfortabley, sweat dripping from his brow. "You can't have won again, man. That's six in a row..." A bruiser shifted at the loser's shoulder, eyeing the other gambler with suspicion.
"Hey now, I can't help what I'm dealt, y'just unlucky." He chuckled softly, wondering how far he could push this. The other man was rich as hell, controlled a crime ring, and Twisted Fate wondered how much he could wring out of his tight fisted grip. He looked up, rubbing a finger across his beard a moment. "Best out of 13?" He grinned in the half light.
"No, y'cheating scumbag. This is the last game you'll ever play!"
The big guy instantly moved to snatch at Twisted Fate but the cheating gambler was already on his feet, scooping up the gold from the table in a swift motion. "Now now, old man, s'not nice to be a bad loser!" He flipped the table and turned, hearing the roar of anger from the bruiser. Still laughing, he turned a corner... into a blind alley. He skidded to a halt at the end of it and turned.
"Got you now, you sly bastard." The man gestured and the bruiser approached.
"Nuh-uh. wishful thinkin'. Let's play again some time." Twisted Fate gave a short salute, a wink and a grin and there was a flurry of playign cards. As the storm of cards subsided, there was nothing left of the gambler.
The crime leader swore heartily, even as an ace of spades smacked him cleanly in the face. One more city where Twisted Fate was no longer welcome...
And yet somewhere, he was chuckling to himself and counting his winnings.
