Powers And Abilities
Strengths:
Before anything else, Erik Lehnsherr is a mutant. It is around this that he forms his identity, and it is the abilities his mutation allows him that define him. His ability to manipulate metal is so strongly tied to his emotions that it first only reared its head when his strongest ones surfaced; a screaming rage, and the desperation of a son faced with being separated from his mother. For many years, it was only through outbursts of emotion that he was able to access the full extent of his abilities, and even now, that is when he is at his most volatile.
Erik is able to bend metal to his will, whether it is a wristwatch or an aircraft, by creating magnetic fields. This allows him to stop missiles in their tracks and deflect bullets. He is also able to prevent a gun from, or force a gun to, fire while still in somebody else's hand, and if he wished, the same could probably be said of atomic bombs. The industrial world, largely relying upon and constructed from metal—its machinery, its weaponry—is always at his mercy. Not only is he able to bend them, move them—coax them carefully and precisely or use them to crush and destroy—he is also somehow in tune with metals, always aware of their presence; even desiring it. He is aware of every movement of every gear in a machine, or the turning propellers of an aircraft in the sky, or a ship in the sea.
Aside from his mutation, he maintains a certain level of physical fitness that allows him enough security in his other skills. He needs this security to fall back on; needs the reassurance that, should he encounter trouble and be unable to get the upper hand in his usual way, he'd at least be able to put up a fight. Being made to be a victim is one of his greatest fears, and he has poured energy into building the physical strength to prevent such a thing from happening.
His height and lean muscle mass makes him able to run at decent speeds, but it is a rare day that he has any need for running. His stamina, however, is typically relatively low; he works in massive bursts of energy for short periods of time, and then has to take time to recuperate. He is also long-legged and a little less than agile. It is power alone, rather than speed or skill, that gets him the upper hand in any fight. He isn't one to take things slowly or stick to the shadows, nor turn his back in a fight even when he should. If someone far stealthier and faster were to face him, he could be caught unawares.
However, he also possesses formidable strength of will, which was largely what allowed him to withstand torture and experiments at the hands of the same men that murdered his parents. He is able to cope with pain more than the average person because of a heightened pain threshold; something that might have saved his sanity when he was younger, or something that he might have developed in order to preserve it. It was with the same willpower that he remained focused on one goal for years; his eyes won't stray from his objective until it has been carried out, or he dies trying. He can be overzealous, and that can be either a strength or a weakness depending on the situation, and from which side you are looking at it.
It may be his overzealousness that gives him a natural tendency towards leadership. It is not his love of people that prompts him to take the lead, nor organise groups of people to work beneath or alongside him. He is, however, able to inspire surprising strength in others, through his own passion in his ideas and beliefs. His presence and his passion—along with the occasional long-winded speech—are what wins people over, sometimes through sincere motivations and sometimes not. Either way, he can be a force for positive change in peoples' lives, if he feels they deserve it.
Another of Erik's strengths is his intellect. Being that he grew up during the second world war in a Jewish family, it wasn't easy to attain a proper education; even less so when the war left him an orphan who needed work to support himself. But it was in books that he found solace; in books that the world opened up to him, its secrets divulged. Books gave him an education where the world had failed, and although he is no scholar, nor obsessed with academia, he has a naturally high intellect and will especially put it to use in strategy.
Weaknesses:
He is also far from invulnerable, possessing no unusual physical strength or ability, though he can and will use surrounding machinery or other metals not only as weapons, but to shield himself if necessary. He is entirely dependent on his mutation, and without it would prove no more threatening a foe than most men of his height and fitness level—perhaps even less, as he can soon become overconfident, and a sneak attack or, indeed, magic that would be completely beyond him, could get the better of him.
However, no matter his skill in strategy and leadership, he could easily endanger both himself and those around him through the same passion that drew them to him. Anger and personal vendettas can lead him to recklessness that could result in disaster, and if people stand in his way—primarily humans—he is liable to do nothing to spare them. His anger is explosive, and everything he feels, both positive and negative emotions, are amplified; always on full volume. His hatred burns deep, but so does his affection, though it is a rare thing. He would sacrifice almost any mission, no matter how many years of planning had gone towards it, to save someone who truly mattered to him. For this reason he forms strong alliances as well as strong rivalries.

Personal Information
Personality:
From after his years in the Jewish prisons, and after, the man known has Magneto has always been a kind-hearted man. To the public however, his is viewed as evil. But, inside, Erik Lehnsherr is not evil. He is far from it actually. Magneto is actually a very respectful and kind-hearted man. He can support others and shows the up most respect to others. Human-kind sees him as terrible because of his different views of them. Unlike his very good friend Charles Xavier, Magneto believes that the mutant kind is superior, and that homo-sapiens do not wish happiness for the mutants. He believes in doing what must be done to insure that his people find happiness, whether it resorts to killing or not.
Aside from being driven, Magneto is a very powerful man among the mutants. He brings terror to some, and is honored by others. He is both despised and respected. Many believe Magneto is a great leader, and would follow him to their own end, just to help Erik Lehnsherr with his goals. However, if one of the mutant-kind stood in his way of what he wants to achieve, he would treat them as any other homo-sapien.
History:
Born to a Jewish family in Poland in the late 1920’s, Erik was forced into the Auschwitz death camp by the Nazis after their invasion. During his imprisonment at this camp, he met a fellow mutant by the name of Sebastian Shaw. The man wanted to see Erik’s powers for himself. By way of killing his mother and torturing him, he finally got to see the full extent of Erik’s powers. Finally, the war ended and he was liberated from the camp. Revenge lingered in the man’s mind, and he sought to kill Shaw.
Eventually, Erik found the man responsible for his many years of torture. His meeting with Shaw did not go well, as he was beaten down by the man’s cohorts in his Hellfire Club. Upon the ship where he found Shaw, he also met two people, Charles Xavier and Raven Darkholme, who were both mutants. Like Erik, Charles and Raven were on a mission to take out Shaw. As it turned out, this was a botched CIA mission that the pair were a part of. Erik joined the two mutants, and, with the help of the CIA, gathered a group of mutants to battle the Hellfire Club, who were attempting to start a nuclear war between the US and the Soviet Union in order to kill all who were not mutants.
Charles helped the team, and Erik, gain better control over their powers. The hatred for Shaw’s crimes committed against him still lingered in his mind, even with Charles’s attempts to convince him otherwise. Proud of being a mutant, he convinced Raven to be proud of her own appearance. It was during this time that the group got their first win against the Hellfire Club: capturing the White Queen Emma Frost. Finally, it was time for the group of mutants to step in and stop the Cuban Missile Crisis from happening. Shaw and the Hellfire Club were close to achieving their ultimate goal.
The group of mutants fought against the Hellfire Club and were ultimately victorious against them. During this battle, Shaw attempted to persuade Erik onto his side by promising a mutant world order. Although Erik agreed with the man’s views, he did not forgive him for what happened at the death camp. Charles pleaded with Erik to let go of his hate. He ignored these pleas and sent a coin through the brain of Shaw. Seeing the power of the mutants, both the United States and Soviet Union formed an alliance to get rid of them. Missiles that had been sent to end the mutants were sent back to their feet. Fortunately, for them, Xavier tackled Erik and began to fight him. After their fist fight, a CIA officer attempted to shoot Erik, but he deflected the bullet.
To his dismay, one of the bullets deflected had been sent into his greatest friend’s back, permanently crippling him. Due to remorse for Charles and their different viewpoints, Erik bid his friend farewell and left with Raven and the remaining Hellfire Club members. This new group, the Brotherhood of Mutants, ultimate goal was to eradicate Earth of humans in order to finally gain peace for mutant kind. After breaking Emma Frost out of her prison, Erik declared the founding of his new group and new persona: Magneto.
Sample Post
Humans were now very aware of mutant-kind's existence. It frightened them to see such people who were different. People who had limitless capabilities. When people had fear in their mind, they could do a number of things. Fight or flight. Only one was a true viable option. The humans weren't about to let some people with deformities over take them as the dominant people on the food chain. No, that could never happen. Only one option remained: fight. Humans were more than capable of using this method to get rid of something they feared.[/size]
Erik had already seen what humans were willing to do to get rid of a race they found inferior. This time something would happen before that fate ever fell on the mutants. He would make sure of that. A war was on the horizon, and, in the end, the mutants would be accepted. Whether the humans wanted to or not. They had no choice in the matter. Whatever it took for mutants to finally take their rightful place in the world.
