Powers And Abilities
Strengths:
- Unparalleled Knight: Eliwood was, in his home, unparalleled in his skill as a knight. He was a virtually peerless swordsman, and a master wielding the lance. Thanks to bouts with his friend Hector, he also had passing skill with wielding an axe, though he seldom did so. His style was fluid and swift, and he was able to get around even the "impenetrable" defenses of foes far more physically powerful or otherwise capable than he was himself, by simple virtue of his skill and agility.
- Master Horseman: Later in his life, Eliwood took to horsemanship in an effort to get around the field of battle more quickly. And he excelled at it. With training from friend and mentor Marcus, Eliwood quickly became one of the finest horsemen in all of Pherae.
- Skilled Diplomat: Eliwood was a skilled diplomat, and was often capable of defusing hostility with mere words, and seldom had to resort to violence if he did not wish to. Some even said listening to Eliwood speak had a calming effect, and that he was able to quell even the notorious temper of Hector with but a few words.
- Scholar: While far from a true scholar, Eliwood did take time to study and learn whatever was available to him. This has not only given him a wealth of wisdom as befits the ruler of a kingdom, but has also given him a quick, intuitive uptake on new information, allowing him to readily assimilate and learn new facts extremely quickly.
- Baptised in War: Due to certain experiences, Eliwood has gained a few very minor, if very potent, abilities which cannot wholly be explained. Some speculate they are from his possession of Durandal, however brief it might have been, and some simply say it is "battlefield experience". Regardless, Eliwood possesses a phenomenal level of willpower, and is capable of fighting on even with the most grievous wounds, slowing and being impeded by them much less than a normal man might be, and fighting on for a g reat while before the wounds finally catch up with him. As well, he possesses the natural, pseudo "sixth sense" all trained soldiers have to some degree, and is capable of rooting out danger, or predicting his opponent's moves with greater ease, though it is far from foolproof.
Weaknesses:
- Mortal: Despite all his training and his immense willpower, Eliwood is still, at the end of the day, a mere mortal man, and will succumb to wounds and die like anyone else.
- Melee Fighter: Eliwood is a melee fighter through and through. If he could get his hands on a javelin or throwing spear, he could use it to great effect, but he lacks any such, limiting him to melee combat.
- Illness: Eliwood's illness is still crippling, if slightly less so. He is no longer confined to bed, but the illness still weakenes him greatly, leaving him far less effective in battle than usual.
Weapons And Equipment:

- Rapier: Eliwood's weapon of choice for foes he can't fight on normal terms. A thin, light blade made more for striking through gaps in even the heaviest armor, rendering it useless. Of little use for slashing or actually fighting an opponent straightly, but extremely fast and good for "bypassing" defenses.
- Silver Sword: Eliwood's "primary" weapon. A longsword forged from magically enchanted silver. It is extremely durable and powerful, though possesses no powers or abilities of its own. A solid weapon, though not outstanding.
- Silver Lance: The counterpart to Eliwood's silver sword, a lance cast from the same enchanted silver. A powerful weapon, well-suited to use from horseback or against larger targets.
Personal Information
Personality:
Eliwood is a kind, noble man, who would wish harm upon no one if it were possible. He is quiet and seldom speaks more than necessary, unless among friends, though he is far from withdrawn or reclusive. Many have mistaken his gentle nature for weakness in the past, and been greatly surprised and suffered dearly for doing so when the steel in his mind was revealed. Behind his gentle mask lies the steely intensity of a warrior who fights to protect all that he cares for with a monstrous fervor and passion.
History:
Eliwood was born of the noble house of Pherae, his father was Lord Elbert and his mother was Lady Eleanora. His childhood best friend was Hector the younger brother of the Marquess Ostia. These two attended school together and as they grew older their friendship grew as well. He is expected to be around the age of 16 when Lyn first meets him in chapter 7 and a year older in chapter 11 (Eliwood's story) or chapter 12 (Hector's story), due to his support conversation with Hector that states they have been sparing since the age of 12 once every two months, with a total of 30 or so battles. If so then he would be 17 in his story
By chance one day when Eliwood was scheduled to meet with Hector he stumbled upon a group of bandits who had captured a young girl named Ninian. After he set about rescuing the girl he met Lyn and decided to see if he could help her in her quest to free Caelin from Lord Lundgren. Eliwood convinced Caelin's neighbors to remain neutral in Lyn's dispute.
Eliwood is a noble on a quest to find his father, who had been kidnapped by the Dark Druid, Nergal. His objectives soon change, however, and Eliwood fights a group of assassins called the Black Fang. As the story progresses, Eliwood comes to battle with Nergal's morphs (zombie-like creatures, some of who are sentient), Nergal himself, and a renegade Fire Dragon to save the world. To defeat Nergal, he journeys deep within the earth to retrieve Durandal, a legendary sword and the eponymous Rekka no Ken or "Blazing Sword", which was used by Roland, the founder of Lycia.
Years later, he is beset by illness, so he decides to stay at Castle Pherae to not be a burden on Roy, he then sends his son to Ostia and hired Dieck's mercenaries to help him. He fights with the illness which has beset him as best he is able, and begins to make a slight recovery just as he is haphazardly hurled into a new situation.

"Mm....yes, I'll be fine."
That was the last thing he had said to his faithful retainer. Because after he had finally gotten the man to leave, he had sat down to rest and drifted off to what should have been a pleasant, if short, nap -- he was expecting to be awoken all too soon for some matter or other. Exactly what escaped him at the moment; perhaps some news of Roy's travel. He suspected it might have been news on him finally meeting with Dieck and his mercenaries.
Call that a Father's instinct.
But when he awoke...he immediately noticed several things. The first was that he had either slept far longer than he had intended to or had thoroughly misjudged the time when he set himself down. The second was that he was no longer in his quarters. And the third was that he had no clue just where he was. A tired glance around told him nothing; only that the environs were wholly unfamiliar.
He sighed, running a hand tiredly over his eyes. The weight that settled over him at that moment nearly drove him flat to the ground. The illness upon him, when added to his lack of any real rest as of late and his sudden....travel bore heavily on him. "Marcus....if I should return home I will not be so quickly to dismiss your coucil, old friend..." His voice was faintly amused, but his concern was clear.
"Though I suppose a more pressing concern would be...." Slowly he heaved himself up to his feet, looking unsteady for a moment before hs gained his composure and bearing. "....to find out where exactly I had found myself this time."
