Wizard's fire~Burn baby burn
Darken Rahl is a powerful wizard. Thanks to his bloodline and being taught by one of the most powerful wizards alive, Rahl's power is equal to a wizard of the first order (ie. the highest rank of wizard). He knows a vast quantity of the words of power, being able to apply them in hundreds of different ways. He is able to summon wizard's fire from his hands, though in a sickly shade of green rather then pure red or orange. As such he can use this power explosively, defensively or offensively.
Rahl can also vanish and teleport at will, though this uses a lot of his Han (The equivalent of mana).
Having died and become the servant of the Keeper (the lord of the underworld), Rahl has also gained some ability in creating magical contracts and binding people to their word. People bound by contract must forfill the terms, or be terribly pained, sometimes even destroyed, depending on the terms of the contract.
He also has some ability in conjuration, being able to summon Guard Beasts from the underworld to attack his foes. Again, this uses a lot of his Han, and the beasts do not last long.
Through the use of entrails, he can also divine answers to questions, such as yes, no or a name of an individual. This works best with human entrails, unfortunatley.
Finally, Rahl can shift his shape and appearance to anything he desires. Most notable of these is his owl form that he uses for travelling.
Immune to confession/mind controlCan't tell me what to do beech!
In Rahl's world, the bloodline of Confessors can take control of any human, for the rest of the Confessor's life. Darken Rahl is one of the rare few that is immune to a Confessor's touch. As such, he is also immune to mind control. This is perhaps because he is so strong of will.
Magic CopyingI see whut you did there.
Rahl is also very adept at copying other people's magic. This only applies to magic, not other abilities. And it is also not instantaneous. He has to have time to study the spell to replicate it, but he can replicate it simply from seeing it.
Weaknesses:
Melee combatBit crap in melee. Punch him in the face
Rahl is not great with melee combat. He can weild a sword to some degree, as is expected of a once king, but he's not great at it, and certainley no master swordsman. Once you catch him weaponless, though, he's pretty much screwed, as he's bad with fist fighting or fighting dirty.
Arrogance and overconfidenceCan't touch this-- oh crap. Don't come any closer, I'm warning yo--
Rahl is incredibly arrogant and overconfident and has utter faith in his incredible wizard powers and his influence. Once he's had that confidence chipped, he's rather vunerable.
Fear of Death
Having left the service of the Keeper, Rahl has a terrible fear of dying again and returning to the Keeper, as his old master would no doubt view him as having failed and torture him for eternity.
Robes
Rahl only wear thick and heavy robes, usually in shades of red and gold. These robes restrict movement significantley, and provide little protection against weapons. They do look flipping epic though, and your a fool if you dare take the piss out of them looking like a dress. >>;
Weapons And Equipment:
Dagger[/size]
A simple and plain dagger, as used by a lot of spellcasters as a last line of defense and offense incase things get too close for comfort. This does not mean he's particularly adept at using it.
Sword
Similar to his dagger, he also carries a sword. Though fit enough to weild it without trouble, he's not greatly skilled with its use.
Journey Books
A pair of books with seemingly blank pages. If one writes in blood in one, the words will appear in the other. Ca be used for long range communications.
Personal Information
Personality:
There is little selfless or good about Darken Rahl. He is a selfish, arrogant and powerful man and he uses that power to do as he pleases. Once king of D'Hara before his demise, he knew well what to do with his powers, and how to manipulate and terrorise others into doing his bidding. He is without mercy, and without restraint, and takes pleasure in other's pain. His sadism extends to torture and he would rather do as such then let someone die easily, especially on the chance they hold some useful secrets.
But the true horror of the tyrant is his ability to coat his malice in sweetness. As much able to leash people with fear, he is able to catch them with supposed kindness before they even realise they are ensnared in his web. This could be for grander designs, such as gaining himself more power, or for something as simple as his amusement and desires.
Rahl's actions are often for his own pleasures, and he is both a womaniser and a great lover of culture (presuming he doesn't have to deal with any scumbag normal people), and this is partially due to his upbringing as a prince of D'Hara, and partially due to his general cruel and selfish nature. He is dignified but lashes out seemingly with no reason.
However, those he trusts, he would most certainley trust with his life. Once you have this man's trust... you become his greatest weakness. He is easiest to get to through these people and has not learnt his lesson from past experiences of betrayal.
Aside from his cruelty, he is quick to anger, especially to those that mock him or his mannerisms, and is fast to punish those that do. His temper has led to several deaths and other situations he's regretted at a later date.
He also has a mild streak of fear in him over magic. Whilst powerful, he fears others that are more powerful then him. He is also afraid of dying, and will do what he can to get out of such a situation, be it manipulation or promises, or even giving things up to his would be killer.
Finally, he takes pride in his appearance and loves grand entrances. His clothing, often heavy and elaborate robes, reflects his vanity, and his hair and beard are always well kept.
History:
The first born of Panis Rahl, king of D'Hara, Darken Rahl was destined for greatness from birth. It was prophesized that he would be killed and his tyranny put to an end by his younger brother, Richard, who his fathered sired soully so someone would kill him, as it was also prophesized that Darken Rahl would kill his father.
He was taught how to use the powerful magic in his bloodline, and even went on to make a deal with the Keeper of the underworld for even more power. He murdered his father, and went on to become the ruler of D'Hara, a tyrant and a hated king. However, under his rule there was great order and he expanded his empire to cover much of the midlands and beyond. Served by his loyal Mord Sith, who catered to his every whim, and in control of a huge army, he thought nothing could stop him... nothing save the prophecy of his baby brother slaying him.
His attempts to kill Richard failed, and he was killed and sent to the underworld, where he continued to serve the Keeper.
However, somehow he has now been reborn, into his normal body complete with the Han that provides his wizard powers, and finds himself in this strange mixture of universes, with no notion of how to return to his own world, or D'Hara that he so desperatley wishes to reclaim.

A man was pushed to the ground by a woman dressed in red leather. Quivering, her victim looked up through the blood that streaked his face and hair, his eyes settling on the cruel visage of the tyrant wizard; Darken Rahl.
"Why thank you, Enna." His voice was smooth and courteous as he thanked the woman, one of his loyal Mord Sith. She nodded her head to her master, before strutting round the side of her victim until she stood next to Rahl, eyes on him for a long moment before looking down at her prey. "He tried so very hard to escape, my Lord.." She drawled softly, a smile spreading on her lips even as the man cowered.
Rahl broke his gaze from his victim to look at the woman. Her hair was drawn back severely from her angular, beautiful face. He raised a hand, and brushed it across her cheek. "Oh, I know full well nothing escapes you my dear." He breathed, a smirk flicking across his lips. Her eyes had closed in pleasure at his touch, opening only when his touch was gone and his attention once more focused on the cowering worm before him.
"I hear you know about the location of a certain artefact of interest." He said, taking a few steps closer.
"I know nothing! Not for the likes of you!" His victim cried suddenly, summoning enough courage to actually spit at Rahl's feet. "May you burn with the Keeper!"
Rahl's face darkened in an instant, an anger clear in his eyes even as he brought up a hand, aiming it directly at the man. "You dare challenge me? You dare invoke the Keeper?" Power burned around his fingers, and the unfortunate man before him weeped silently into his hands.
