This... is different, but not overly so. The witch frowned as she flipped her amethyst hair, brows furrowed in subtle annoyance. She truly liked to believe, as someone who played various game boards with other witches, that she was fairly well-learned in the different universes that existed and she could blend into any situation. Then why had she been so uncomfortable visiting the other lands? Bernkastel merely took a peek at a variety of countries and species at various points, yet never strayed far from her safe haven. There were places out there the Witch of Miracles didn't want to visit; it went outside her realm of enjoyment. She didn't want to see any aliens or other bulging creatures, they did not go well with tea.
Bern let her leather mary-janes shuffle against the dirt as she walked, making as much noise as a normal human would. There were few people roaming at such a late point in the afternoon, though the village also seemed abnormally barren. A pity since the mixture of wood and stone architecture made for a rather fascinating view. Cool shades of orange and grey spread across the dawn sky, melding together to create some form of clarity within the human domain.
Her eyes narrowed when she spotted a group of bandits, particularly rowdy after probably drinking enough for the entire bar. The normal appearance Bernkastel vanished and padded underneath and in between several crates, tail circling back and forth. Within seconds she had danced around the fools with the silent grace only a cat could manage, and continued her journey down the road. Feline ears flicked downward as she heard them complain of women and other useless topics, but their miserable words had already faded from her mind as she went down the path in her usual form. How tiresome.
The rustle of leaves and vague loopy chirps of birds with their wings flapping was new in Bernkastel's mind, warm bursts of air brushed against her cheek like a foreign welcome. Her heart remained frozen as she gazed at the landscape, thoughts fallen and constantly shifting. A part of her had hoped, maybe something new would stir her feelings. A different sight, started from scratch. The emptiness of a thousand years still weighed on her and crushed any dream of being content with what was. As a witch, others were manipulated to change while she stayed consistent and still.
She noticed a small curved chair by a shop and decided to rest for a while, keeping one leg neatly crossed as a lady would. Her fingers curled as delicate china appeared in her grasp and gradually took the form of a tea-cup. One of the few things she brought with her and couldn't live without, the majority of her being would've been quite boring sans her drink of choice. Bernkastel's lips touched the edge slightly in a careful sip, and decided the frosty aftertaste was mint.
She was disrupted from her tea when she heard the light thumps of someone who moved swiftly. Strangely, they were coming toward her. Bernkastel looked around before she decided to simply wait for the stranger to come to her. There was no need to be impatient or ill-tempered, everything would go well in time.
"I don't believe we've met before. How do you do?"
