Powers And Abilities
Strengths:

- Valant’s body is built like a tank. And for many years, he had no idea that he was capable of bettering himself at his ability to fight and defend himself. He does know that he is ten times stronger than the average man... and has the ability to run in short busts of speed, along with how he can take advantage of the strength he has in his legs to leap high into the air.
- By the time Valant moved into Tsukio and married Narelle, he quickly took up an interest in martial arts in means of both improving his physique and disciplining himself mentally and physically. And after years of studying and practice, he now excels in the art of Kickboxing and Bōjutsu.
- His scales are that of a dragon, and they’re thick and tough enough to provide him a natural defense against physical attacks. They only cover roughly fifty percent of his body.
- The dragon half of his genes has granted him with a natural ability to breathe fire. This is due to a large gland that is located in the back of his throat, which secrets a putrid sticky yellow oil that smells like sulfur. Depending on irritated or angry he is, the intensity of the flames can increase significantly to temperatures that can be devastating.
Weaknesses:
- His ability to breathe fire has a backlash that prevents him from being able to breathe it continuously for prolonged periods of time. Since he does not have the heat resistance that full-blooded dragons genetically possess, he can easily harm himself just from the heat that radiates from the flames. He can easily make his throat raw. This puts him at risk of losing his voice.
- Valant is more experienced in physical combat, and understands more on how to block and counter physical attacks. This left the fact that he is vulnerable to magical attacks, explained by how he doe not have a way to defend himself from anything that can magically harm him.
- Due to his illegitimacy and status as an 'ungodly' creation, Valant is susceptible to holy weapons and artifacts. It is mostly due to the unholy energy that was used to create him.
- Thanks to a genetic imperfection, Valant was born blind in his left eye.
Weapons And Equipment:

- Valant’s weapon of choice is a seven foot long wooden bo staff. He carries it with him on his back inside a leather hilt.
Quirks:

- Valant stands at 6‘10“ (2‘ including horns) and weighs 348 pounds.
- His astrological sign is Cancer.
- His tongue is split like a reptilian’s.
- The easiest way to tell whenever Valant is irritated and or angered is by the thick black smoke that rises from his mouth and nostrils. The thicker the smoke, the more liable he is to breathe out fire.
- Valant is an artificial one of a kind when it comes to his species. And due to being artificial... it unfortunately rendered him sterile. Which basically means that he is unable to breed.
- The broach that he has pinned on his robe is a comparable to an engagement ring. It is proof that he is married to his beloved wife, Narelle Demitros.
- Valant’s first name and surname were given to him by his master, Conrad. In a way, it’s a play on the word “valiant”, which means to be boldly courageous. Demitros is a greek surname, which is oddly fitting for him since Valant is a chimera.
Personal Information
Personality:
The best way to describe Valant is that he is the epitome of a gentle giant with a heart of solid gold. His kindness and generosity are the two main traits of his personality that are the most prominent, which influence the idea within his head that everyone, no matter who they are, should be treated humane and equal. It makes it wonderfully easy for others to approach him and even converse with him... as long if they realize that he has no intention to harm anyone without a liable reason.
Followed shortly after are the flavorful spices of his introverted and naive nature, which are a direct result of him being forcefully sheltered within his former home by his creator for thirty-four years. His shyness can hold quite a grip around him, to the point where he becomes child-like and nervous when faced with a difficult or questionable situation. Most of the time, he is afraid to venture out of familiar grounds.
On the other hand, Valant has no trouble proving to others that his boldness and loyalty is as impenetrable as the stone walls of a castle. He ensures to others that he stays true to his word... to the point where he can become rather overprotective of those who are close to him... and those who he dearly love.
It is also easy for him to make mistakes. He’s quick and brash on his decision making, and rarely ever takes the time to think first before reacting. And when provoked, his anger is quick and explosive... just like the red-hot flames that he can breathe. For a trickster looking for someone to tease and play with, he is a perfect target... simply because of how gullible he is to fall for a prank. It is remarkably easy to make him embarrassed and flustered.
He can also be painfully oblivious to the concept of humor. He can even be absentminded from time to time, to the point where his mind often drifts off into the deep depths of his thoughts. The world is still brand new to him... and has yet to fully learn about the secrets that life can hold for him.
History:
Long ago, Valant started out as a near impossible idea inside the curious mind of a madman who lived in Servous, a populated town located on the Grandeur Islands. Conrad Dorriean was his creator’s name, and he had a dream to create the world’s first artificial chimera. But the reasons he had were quite simple with a maddening twist... and that was that Conrad wanted to prove to others that mankind could create life without having to breed. And if he successfully create a living, breathing life form, then that would disprove the existence of a god.
For many years, Conrad spent the rest of his life learning how to build the machines that he needed in order to make his idea come to life. Attempt after failed attempt, Conrad resorted having to sacrifice his own blood and mental sanity to a dark entity in order to give his creation a suitable heart and soul for his artificial body. And once the pact was sealed, Valant was born... and became to be known as Conrad’s greatest accomplishment.
It wasn’t long at all until Conrad grew possessive... and overprotective of his beloved creation. And for over thirty long years, he kept Valant isolated inside his laboratory. He resorted to teaching Valant all by himself about the outside world... but what use would that knowledge be if Valant never saw the light of day? Conrad knew that he couldn’t keep him isolated for the rest of his life.
When the news of Conrad’s success was finally released after many years of being kept as a closely guarded secret... the townspeople became enraged. The people of Servous saw Valant not as a successful experiment, but as an abomination, the spawn of the devil. They said that he was impure, that he shouldn’t exist... and that it was better for him to be wiped off of the face of the planet then the breathe the same air as human beings.
Conrad quickly realized that his life and Valant’s life were in danger. With great regret, Conrad decided that it was better for Valant to live off on his own. He released his creation and allowed him to escape into the outside world before his laboratory was raided and set afire by an angry mob. With Conrad’s lab in complete ruins, he had nowhere else to go... and lived the rest of his life caged up behind bars.
Valant was finally free now... and thanks to the luck that was bestowed upon his soul, he found shelter within the dense woods of Bravoure. There, he came upon an isolated camp site within the dead center of the woods. He ended meeting a strange woman who went by the name of Narelle Rudenko. At first, he was hesitant... and didn’t fully trust her. But in order for her to gain his trust, Narelle had to prove to him that she was not there to hurt him... and so, she revealed her true form, for she too was far from human. The two quickly became close friends. She ended a promise to him that she would help find a suitable place for the two of them to live in peace, without the fear of being persecuted for being different.
For the next three years, the two spent their lives traveling abroad. They visited many of the world’s towns and cities... and upon making discoveries, they made a close friend with another strange being, who went by the name of Relia. When they stopped by at her hometown of Angsust, the two lived there for a few years with her until they decided to move away to Tuskio. There, Valant and Narelle married each other... and became inseparable.

Silence. Nothing but sheer, unsettling silence. The only sounds that truly accompanied the beast were the soft crackling of the torch fire and the sound of his heart pounding against his chest, pounding, pounding, pounding. The more he awaited for the appearance of the master of this strange castle, the more it felt like as if an eternity had passed by. It would be useless to wait further and waste his time when he could be searching for a way to escape. Yet such a thought conflicted with him. He was drowned with suspense as he stood there in the defensive posture, feet heavily planted into the marble, knuckles painted white as he held onto his staff. Instinct screamed at him, telling him that this was a trick to him, a play of some sort just to get his guard down.
He shifted his position, moving his legs now that he simply stood... wary, but cautious. He kept his weapon out, holding onto it tight as his dear life depended on it. In an attempt to calm his nerves, the beast took in a deep breath, his broad chest expanding. When he exhaled, a thick black smoke danced past his lips in thick curls, a clear signal of his distress.
The beast may as well continue on. A turn of his heel and he started off, striding a few steps down the hall when-- BANG! Noise. More noise. It thundered monstrously behind him, the sound of wood colliding against the wall. Such a noise caused all of the muscles in his body to go stiff. Sick. He felt sick... an ill sensation pounding at the base of his skull. His ears lowered and folded, a subtle whine rattling against his throat. And then came a voice. A deep alluring voice, heavily peppered with the spices of age. It tickled his senses, forcing the beast to turn around once again to meet with the eyes of the master.
There the stranger stood tall, with vicious eyes flaring bright with his hunger. This older man... he was dressed strange too, clad in a suit decorated with enigmatic hues of teal and gold. Behind him flowed deep crimson robes that draped over his shoulders. Valant’s ears perked back up, arching towards the older man. The beast was able to pick up that scent again, stronger and more pungent than ever before. It made him more sick to his stomach, the sensation churning hard in his stomach. The beast grimaced for a moment yet continued to hold his ground. He furrowed his brows, finally breaking the silence that was created after the man’s statement.
“I have to say the same thing to you. You smell off. It is... definitely sickening.” Valant bluntly stated, wrinkling his nose. “And I did not mean to tread. I got chased away and... found myself lost. I have been lost... and had no choice but to seek for shelter."
