Powers And Abilities
Strengths:
- Magic: Doctor Strange is the Sorceror Supreme of his home universe. His mastery over the mystic arts was unparalleled among other mortals, and even greater than some deities and mystic beings themselves. He is capable of channeling his own power and energy into his spells, or channeling the ambient energy of the world around him, as well as calling upon deities and powerful spirits to lend him their might and power.
- Universal Sources: This type of magic works on manipulating and channeling the energy of the world and universe around him. It consumes relatively little of Strange's own stamina and energy to perform this type of magic, but it is noticably less powerful than other types as a result.
- Intangibility: Doctor Strange can render himself intangible and phase through solid matter and even some types of energy and magic, though most such attacks will harm him regardless.
- Mystic Bolts: Simple bolts of mystic energy. They can range in power from something as lowly as the force of a mere punch or gunshot all the way up to bolts of power strong enough to blast a man off of his feet or blow away entire walls.
- Banishment: With proper time and energy, Doctor Strange can perform a banishing spell on nearly anyone or anything, and can even define the limits of the banishment, such as merely removing them from the area, the world, the dimension, etc. Generally speaking, the more powerful the entity being banished, the more power Doctor Strange will need, and may even have to call upon more power than is available by simple manipulation of the universe to do so.
- Transmutation: With proper focus, Doctor Strange can literally turn almost any substance to any other substance. He has performed such feats as transforming a sword to a swarm of bats, turning incoming projectiles to harmless vapor, and many others besides.
- Telekinesis: Doctor Strange can use a form of telekinesis wherein he envelops objects in a field of invisible magic and can move them about at will. The larger the object, the more draining and difficult it will be, naturally, but the upper limits to what size of object can bem oved, or the number of smaller objects, are difficult to determine. He has moved objects such as large vehicles, massive piles of rubble, and countless books and other similar-sized objects, making his limits quite high and his control quite precise.
- Flight: Doctor Strange is capable of levitating and flying with both great speed and control. He has for the most part abandoned use of this ability since aquiring the Cloak of Levitation.
- Teleportation: Doctor Strange was capable of teleporting over vast, nigh-incalculable distances. In his home dimension he could teleport across entire worlds, solar systems, and galaxies, and even across dimensional veils with enough focus. This ability has been restricted somewhat now, however, thanks to the interference of the Game Master.
- Protective Shields: Shields of magical energy whch are said to be as powerful as Doctor Strange needs them to be. In the past they have stood up to even blows from the Hulk in an enraged state.
- Time Manipulation: With great focus, Doctor Strange is capable of slowing or even halting the flow of time. In extreme cases he is even capable of travelling through the timestream, though such is extremely taxing to perform, and he rarely does so.
- Conjuring: Doctor Strange has proven time and again capable of conjuring any manner of object, from weapons to various books and other artifacts from his Sanctum Sanctorum. He rarely makes great use of this ability, unless against weapon-wielders, but it is of great use in many situations.
- Various Spells: Doctor Strange is capable of a great many other spells and effects, far too numerous to ever hope to name or even categorize. Suffice to say, than near any conceivable effect, he can perform with the proper magic expenditure.
- Divine Sources: By calling upon various deities and other powerful entites, Doctor Strange can gain aid from their power and channel it into powerful spells, achieving virtually any effect on a great scale of power. There are, of course, contemporary spells, such as perhaps the "Crimson Bands of Cyttorak", a powerful binding spell, though Doctor Strange is also capable of merely invoking one or more of these powerful beings and stating what he wishes or needs to happen, and channeling the necessary energy to produce the result.
- Darkness of the Divine Conduit: Doctor Strange is capable, without even uttering a spell, to simply "take" the power of another being by sheer force of will, and in truly desperate situations, even absorb the very esscence and spirit of supposed "omnipotent" beings or "deities". This is a dangerous feat to even attempt, as it has been shown that, should he attempt to take the power or esscence of a being too powerful, if his will were to falter for even a moment, he could lose his sense of self, and become just like that which he absorbed. He is also capable of restoring powers he has taken in this manner, at need.
- Longevity: After winning a succesful contest against Death, Doctor Strange has "accepted" death, and as such, he is no longer bound by strictly normal rules of life. He will age at a far slower pace than a normal man, and will not succumb to sickness or disease.
- Astral Projection: Doctor Strange is capable of, via meditation, releasing his astral form from his body. This form bears the appearance of a semi-transparent, ethereal version of Doctor Strange's physical form. It is immune to all physical efforts to harm it, and even most types of energy and magic fail to have any effect on it. It is capable of ignoring the natural limits of the universe, and Doctor Strange is capable of traversing countries, worlds, and even entire galaxies within the span of mere seconds, travelling at literally "the speed of thought".
