So, they'd restored their beloved city to it's former glory? If you could call it glory. Humans were naturally small-minded, he decided, and their city reflected this. Many humans packed into concrete blocks and boring streets. But he supposed they deserved a little credit for having managed to cure New York City of the damage from his little... invasion.
Today was actually a fine day, though it was late afternoon now. The streets had been busy. But now people were screaming. In this particular street, a newspaper seller had been also selling Avengers merchandise, a celebration of the brave super heroes saving the city. Of course, people had been buying the little toy hammers and collectors cards, but they wouldn't be doing that again.
The god of mischief had simply been prowling along in his Midgardian clothes, hidden for all intents and purposes, delighting in his inconspicuous appearance... until he had seen that newspaper stand. The sight of fake Mjolnirs and Captain America's shield. Well, that had been enough to piss him off. And one thing perhaps even stronger then his love for trickery, was his wrath when shown his own incompetance.
Raising his cane, a brief flash of gold had swept over him, the cane turning to a staff, his suit turning to his armour, golden horns sprouting from the helmet now covering his dark and slicked-back hair. Without a word, he'd fired a blast of energy directly at the stand, no doubt killing the man running it, and exploding the entire thing to ashes and dust. There was a smile on his lips, a beautiful smile but a mad smile. All around him, people screamed and ran, suddenly reminded of what had happened the last time Loki had come to town.
"That's it insects!" He scoffed, raising his staff and firing a blast after fleeing civilians with little thought. "If you will not bow to me, if you will deny me my rights, then you will simply die!" A wave of vengefulness had swept over him, his heart so bitter at the injustice he had been dealt, and the sight of fleeing mortals enough to offer him some temporary amusement.
