Only the Dovahkiin could claim that giant spiders were common to him. In Skyrim almost any ancient ruins were infested with them in some variety. Never before had he seen giant spiders in such large number as they were in the Forbidden Forest. They were not quite as large as the average Frostbite Spider, they were certainly formidable opponents, especially in large number. However, the Dovahkiin was a skilled warrior and was able to take down the World Eater - there was simply no way he would be defeated by a swarm of spiders. The Dovahkiin had managed to defeat quite a large amount so far. So, he continued to walk through the dark forest, sword and shield still held up. It was clear that the Dovahkiin was ready to do battle with whatever foolish creature decided to do battle with him.
The Dovahkiin heard a noise from the nearby brush. The slightest trace of a smile appeared on his face. A spider leaped from the bush right at the Dovahkiin. Immediately the creature was met with a stabbing from his steel blade. More spiders swarmed out from the forest. The Dovahkiin ran into the swarm, slashing at the beasts. With each blow another spider fell. However, it seemed as though every killed spider was replaced with a live one. The Dovahkiin jumped back and fired three bursts of fire into the swarm. The spiders that caught fire ran about, accidentally lighting their brethren as the did so, and eventually died. By the time it was over, their ranks had been severely lessened.
The remaining few were struck down under the Dovahkiin's blade. After extracting venom from some of the spiders, the Dovahkiin continued on through the forest. Eventually, it seemed as though the darkness ended.... Ah, he'd made his way into Lothlorien. The Dovahkiin had managed to find a connecting point where there was no large battle being fought between the two sides. The Dovahkiin had been told that Lothlorien was a settlement for good... But he was aware that it had been an elven settlement. The elves he'd met had, for the most part, been untrustworthy.... Though, those were the elves of Skyrim, not any other world's elves.
