Personal Information
Personality:
Chun Hyang learned martial arts in order to protect her mother.
Naïveté, Do-Gooder, Impulsive
History:
Chun Hyang lived with her mother, Wall Mae who was a beautiful mudang. Her father was already deceased by the time she was six but due to her mother's reputation and profession, she lived a relatively happy life, never really knowing the hardship of the townsfolk. She would often go head-to-head with guards of the son of the corrupt governor of the town whenever she saw him harass the townsfolk.
One day, her home was visited by Mong Ryong, a traveler who acted carefree and a bit cowardly. Her mother invited him to stay for as long as he needed and while Chun Hyang didn't like the idea of strangers living in her home, she obeyed her mother.
Unable to take more of the the shame and insult of being beaten by a fourteen year old girl, the governor decided to kidnap Wall Mae and force her to sleep with him as punishment. He threatened to kill the townsfolk if she ran away and so, to preserve her honor, she took the only route left to her and killed herself.
Chun Hyang stormed the governor's residence, intent on bringing her mother back. When she found her mother dead, she immediately went after the governor, only hesitating when he announced that killing him would only cause the townspeople to be killed as well due to government law. Luckily, Mong Ryong, who revealed himself to be the Om-Hang-Osa, witnessed the evil deeds of the governor and granted Chun Hyang permission to "take your vengeance with pleasure". With a hard face, she killed the governor. Only then did she return to her mother's body and start weeping.
The Om-Hang-Osa asked if she would accompany him on his travels. With nothing to keep her in the town, she agreed.
